Description
Among most Indian tribes, the bald eagle was considered a sacred bird, an intermediary between earth people and the heavenly Great Spirit-the Creator of the Universe. Myths and rites were dedicated to him, and his feathers adorned his clothes and headdresses.
Since 1782, the bald eagle has been the national symbol of the United States, since it was first placed on the Great Seal. It is present on the President's flag, on the congressional staff, on various insignia, and on bills.
As the personification of power, courage, and freedom of a great country!
