A story, from the beginning, founded on conspiracy theories of questionable historic events, deserves a cover that can do its whole premise justice. Its issue 27, let’s bring them ‘The 27 Club’! Featuring musical artists Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, and Alan ‘Blind Owl’ Wilson, who famously all died at the age of 27. This conspiracy continues onto today with modern artists such as Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse.
Afshari Comics teamed up with brilliant artist Leno Hernandez for their second collaboration on Department of Truth Issue #27 (The 27 Club Variant) following their very successful cover for the special DoT issue #25, featuring Jack Ruby outside of his infamous Carousel Club.
